Physical Therapist - Orthopedic and Sports Performance Specialist

Dr. Evan Motlong is originally from Denver, Colorado. He had his first introduction to physical therapy as a patient dating back to his days as a basketball player in high school and college at Adams State University, located in Alamosa, CO. Dr. Motlong's experience rehabbing his two knee surgeries has increased his compassion for his patients because he has been on the receiving end of the mental and physical strain that injury places on a person. After undergrad, Dr. Motlong pursued his doctorate degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Motlong graduated tops in his class and his ability to excel academically, in the clinic, and in the community led to him receiving the South Carolina PT Student of the Year Award.

Eager for opportunities to work with professional athletes, Dr. Motlong was accepted to a 4-month clinical rotation with EXOS, located in Carlsbad, CA. EXOS is one of the top sports-performance institutes in the world. While there, Evan was responsible for programming daily rehab routines for over 30 NFL combine athletes. In addition to working with NFL players, Dr. Motlong also has experience with several soccer players on the USWNT, pro tennis players, and retired NFL players. He also had the opportunity to engage in the sports performance side of EXOS, learning technical and biomechanical enhancements for sprinting and agility. This experience complimented Dr. Motlong’s passion of blending therapy with athletic performance.

Prior to joining ASR Sports Medicine, Dr. Motlong was working in Charlotte, NC at a sports performance center with high school, college, professional athletes, as well as active weekend warriors. Dr. Motlong has extensive experience working with everything from complex spine disorders and sciatica, post-surgical sports injuries, to orthopedic issues throughout the entire body.

Away from work you can find Evan cooking, playing basketball, and exploring all that Miami has to offer. Evan loves to travel and has already been to 14 countries!
